Didn’t get promoted and thinking of leaving Deloitte for the next level at Guidehouse. It’s a title bump so I would get a raise, but I’m trying to weigh the opportunity cost of going to a “lower tier” firm known for more niche services. Has anyone else been in this situation and what did you choose? Would this limit my exit opps?

My “lower tier” firm gets so much work cleaning up after Deloitte just throws bodies at the wall with their churn and burn model. It’s not 1980 anymore.
First of all, I wouldn’t recommend joining Guidehouse for a number of reasons. Second of all, it’s hilarious for you to act like Deloitte is McKinsey or something prestigious. I can’t tell you how many times my client has descoped a Deloitte team and dumped the work on my team because of poor delivery
So where do you work ?
You're both just government contractors, settle down
It was directed towards Deloitte, mate I don't see anything wrong with government contracting unless you do
I left Deloitte for Guidehouse and I can say that I really enjoyed my time GH. It was one of the best firms I’d ever worked for as far as culture and people go. After a few wonderful years, l left for a larger firm. I don’t think working at GH affected my ability to move up.
Oof. The guidehouse bowl is a cluster filled with people questioning their life choices. I’d think long and hard on this one.
Depends if you're seeking long term. Guidehouse is fine for temporary engagement and to get some good experience. They don't take any initiative or care to retain you no matter how qualified, skilled, and experienced you are. It varies depending on your higher ups and your management chain though. Are you planning to join the client or corporate? Don't expect to get promoted at Guidehouse if you work hard and performed well if you had that expectation.
It would be for client. I worked there prior to Deloitte, but considering returning for the bump.
Don’t go to guidehouse, it’ll dilute your resume. Flip to EYP or Strategy& while you have the big 4 connections
Our partners literally leave comments like ‘this is what Deloitte would say’ on a slide that is poorly worded
I learned more at GH then at Deloitte 😂😂 guilty
Never stay at DT
