How useful is an ipad or any other tablet? Trying to come with 5 reasons to buy it 🤓
My patience for this job is waning… I’m 35, single, no debt - Made some decent investments last year in some AI chip stocks and now they’re coming to roost.. my brokerage account is now more than my 401k. I feel like my life is 90% work and 10% everything else. I wonder if I should take some extended time off (6mo-1yr) as I would love to actually have space for things during the week again and explore / grow in other areas of my life. Is it time?
Would you take a pay cut from $205K base to $180K base to go fully remote + can live wherever (from 2 days in office in NYC).
Thoughts on Hantavirus?
My net worth is 343k as a 26 year old. Why do i still feel behind? Current salary is 140k. Friends in tech have been making 190k-350k from college up until now.
The key to being promoted (beyond capability) is to be likeable. To be likeable, you need to be relatable. To be relatable, you need to have a wide range of hobbies and interests and appeal to familiarity - eg have kids, watch sports, play golf, etc.
I never use my iPad...I’ve lost two iPad minis on airplanes so I don’t buy those anymore...I have an iPad Pro that I don’t really use for any purpose
I have an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil, I use it everyday for work, and a little bit for private stuff as mentioned earlier (shopping, reading). I use OneNote and MS Whiteboard all day long. Whiteboard during brainstorming sessions with the team (my manager also has a touch device and we write literally at the same time), OneNote for all my personal thinking and notes, or when i know I will want to keep the content that we would have written on a (physical) whiteboard, I write on the iPad, in OneNote, and share the screen on the projector of the room Sometimes, but less often, red pen on slides/excel but (1) I find it complex to open PPT/XLS just to annote a small thing, so only for big decks and (2) I’m more at the level where I make the slides than the one simply giving his comments on them. Most of the time, when I/we start a deck, I wrote the ideas with pen on blank slides and we then build on it. Only works if the team agrees to work like this Music is always streaming from there during the day as the battery is huge
I have an iPad Air 2. It was a gift and I received it 4 years ago. I actually wanted a kindle with backlit but then my husband decided to gift me an iPad instead. I use it everyday. I love reading and iPad just makes it so much easy. I play games on it and watch movies while travelling (I am a fussy traveller). It keeps me occupied. Amazing stuff. Also I have been using iPhones and iPhone for quite a while now so it just made more sense for me to have an iPad as well. Now let’s list down your 5 reasons: 1. You can read on an iPad. 2. Battery back up of iPads are much more than a usual phone. So if you are travelling, iPad comes in real handy. You stay amused, while your phone is still safely tucked away. 3. It’s so stylish. 4. A bigger screen as compared to your phone but not as bulky as your laptop— this is for youtube and Netflix. 5. If the reasons above are not enough, then you really don’t need an iPad. Update us when you make the purchase.
I love my iPad Pro and use it daily. I also bought the Smart Keyboard, so it’s my go to for travel as well. Music, note taking, drawing, web browsing, etc.
I have had an iPad for 5 years. I have tried using it many times but just can’t find the right use case for it. I use my Windows laptop for work, Macbook for personal use and iPhone for everything else.
I wrote an article back in the day about why the iPad was going to fail. The argument was that it didn’t have a clearly defined swimlane. 10+ years later... I’m on my 4th iPad, and it’s my most used device. Appears to be swimming just fine.
Great to take notes
Love reading the news on it. If you use Amazon or just like to online shop in general, it is more convenient than using your phone or computer. My desk doesn’t have a TV near it, so when I’m doing some lighter work i throw on a sporting event or something. It’s great for watching anything!
I never use mine lol....I charge it when it’s gets to <10% battery which is reminder, damn I should really make use of this thing....and then I go immediately back to just surfing on my iPhone
Everyone mentioned all personal use cases. No one using it for work? E.g., deck review, red pen stuff, building ghost decks, etc? I’m a BA but I always thought I would totally buy an ipad for the above stuff if I were a manager/partner
