Do you write “2Q” or “Q2” for second quarter?

I got a nice review recently, but no change in comp or scope, and it made me wonder how much praise matters without action behind it. Kind words are great, but they don’t pay rent. Do you value recognition if it doesn’t come with tangible reward?

Hi Everyone, I have been having trouble finding a new job (10 months and counting) as a Project Manager despite my extensive experience in the financial industry, I don't want to speculate on the reasons, but now I'm getting to the point of applying for jobs at Walmart or Costco so I can pay my bills more easily, I'm fine with this because work is work but I can't help but think that there may be other options for work that I'm just not considering, or not know about. Any thoughts? Thanks

I’m in Denver pulling $95k base, and I’m starting to think I made a massive mistake by choosing work-life balance over a front-office grind. I love leaving the office by 6:00 PM, but seeing the first-year IB guys pulling down six-figure bonuses is demoralizing. Is the only way to break the $150k barrier before turning 30 to move into a revenue-generating role?

I’m curious if anyone has ever turned down a job because the interview process felt chaotic or disrespectful. It seems like a preview of what the culture might be like. Have you ever walked away because of the process?

I’ve started blocking focus time on my calendar and protecting it like a meeting. It felt awkward at first, but it’s helping. What’s one small productivity habit that actually works for you?

Q2. There is no other way lol
Q2 unless I also add the year (i.e., “2Q25”).
Same
"The quarter that falls between the first quarter and the fourth quarter, but is not the third quarter." (I'm a finance attorney who charges by the minute)
Q2. I don’t think I have ever seen 2Q before lol.
I hadn’t until this boss. And they’re the only one on the team of 13 who writes it that way lol
2Q is psychopathic behavior. Never seen that lol
I don’t disagree lol but it made me wonder how common the usage is
2Q. There is no other way lol
Q2 - This is the way.
whichever way the dingbat head of the dept likes it. and yes, it will change every so often as new people take charge.
if anyone write to me 2Q I will just ignore that communication. but if they did write 2nd Quarter then I may respond
Q2.
Fascinating responses so far! My boss writes 2Q and he’s the only one I’ve ever seen do it that way.
Q2... what is 2Q 😅
Q2. I don’t recall seeing 2Q anywhere.
Anyone writing 2Q should be shot.
MM is more better than mm As in More Money
I always include the year, so I do “2Q24” for example, is this wrong?? How would you include the year writing it Q2 without separating it out. it just seems less efficient
