Any idea for salary expectations for HRO benefits expectations at Lockton?
I’ve been in meetings where leadership said they wanted honest employee feedback, then became visibly uncomfortable when they actually received it. HR often encourages openness while quietly managing reactions behind the scenes. Do organizations really want honest feedback, or just positive feedback?
Please don't judge me. I've sat in on meetings where people have been fired before. I'm fine being support to the managers and handling the paperwork, but I've only actually done the firing part twice before. However, during next week's layoffs, I'll be in charge of running these meetings. I'm nervous about sitting one on one with people and telling them they don't have a job and explaining the pretty crappy severance policy. I'm afraid if someone cries, I'll tear up. How do you guys stay
I recently submitted a candidate that was qualified for a role. The HM looked at the video and passed on her before I even submitted the info. I asked why she said nothing just move on. The candidate asks why she wasn’t moving forward and feedback listing her qualifications vs the job description. I agree go back because I want to know what I’m missing in efforts to submit proper prospects. I was told we don’t have to give a reason and she didn’t fit the culture but don’t tell her that. 😔
I don't understand why I'm the villain here. I was handed an email template for layoffs and a list of 112 employee emails to send it to. So I did. I get that everyone is upset about losing their jobs but complaining that they were laid off via email is a little crazy. Is there a good way to do these things? Is the CEO and I supposed to sit down with 112 people individually and tell them they're out of a job? Would that really make people feel better?
Has anyone experienced this?: A job interviewer (head of HR) is rude & condescending & tries to usher you out of the building, with we’ve-just-started-interviews-and-will-be-in-touch-do-you-need-to-use-the-restroom-before-you-leave…highly insulting & yes I went on Yelp & gave the company a minus zero review. And my hair is streaked with gray so I do look “mature” but I’m proud of my 4 decades of HR experience…which is why I’m happily consulting now. Anyone else have interview horror stories?

Did you wind up interviewing with Lockton? How was it? Did you take the position if it was offered? How are the people in HRO there? Did you find out the compensation range? Was this a HRO Benefits Specialist, Sr Benefits Specialist role? Did you think the pay was on the low side than expected?
I did not - do you have any answers?
