How do you answer the question: "How do you deal with challenges at work"
Can someone hire me without an interview? I can do the job, but I can't handle interviews. 😭 I have experience in Customer Service and Back Office roles, but since I graduated last year, I've found it difficult to apply for jobs. The interview process makes me really anxious, even though I know I can do the work.
I've read that the highest number of jobs get posted in Jan-Feb, followed by Sep-Oct. Jun-Aug is the second slowest period, followed by Nov-Dec as the slowest. Sure feels like it to me! You seeing the slowdown, too? Hang in there...
If you are having an in-person interview, you should arrive early. This is common sense. Then, would it be the same if you're having a Zoom interview? I always debate internally about whether I should join earlier or not. The first ensures that everything is working (but I'd hope not to catch the interviewers too early). What's the best approach?
Just read an article from Fortune about people feeling too burnt out to apply for jobs. Is that you? I get it. This paragraph really summed it up for me: "Compounding the immobility: job seekers are being ghosted at a three-year high, with more than half of applicants reporting no response from employers in the past year. Hiring experts connect the trend directly to AI-inflated application volumes overwhelming recruiters — the same feedback loop burning candidates out. [...]"
I was laid off a month ago and I have startef studying for cisco certifications along with applying. But When I see job descriptions and number of people applied for a job it scares me. AI has made the process complecated I believe.... I have ISP tier3 experience but today's job market wants all together. Sec,cloud, routing, switching, wireless, automation, loadbalance, vpn, design, implement, trouble shoot.......
I would highlight perseverance, motivation, the ability to ask for help (after trying to work through it on your own), good communication, and healthy coping mechanisms. I usually say “I face challenges head on. I follow best practices, but if those aren’t working for that particular issue, I will try something else. If I am still struggling, I reach out to a more experienced peer for advice. As I’m working through the challenge, I keep my supervisor up to date on my progress so that they are aware and can help as needed. If I feel overwhelmed by the challenge, I’ll take a walk to clear my mind. I’ve found that this approach has helped me with challenges I’ve faced in the past” If you feel comfortable, you can include a tight example… but be careful to not get into the weeds of the details of the challenge.
Thanks this is very helpful
Depends on the company and role I’m interviewing for. Feels like an opportunity to provide an example of how you demonstrate company values, or a key skill if “challenges” are common in the role.
What skills do you showcase in such cases
