There's a time for everything. Being a manager I know that if it's hard for you to tell someone no or hold them accountable then a line has been crossed and there's a problem. I know if we've trained and supported and the employee knows and doesn't care there's a time for everything. I know we can't be benders of the policy because we are held responsible for the standards we set for the team and once they are set it's hard to change because of expectations. I believe in the balance of a good attitude and an open door to employees but making it evident of what's expected. Discipline isn't a problem for me.
