How to code effectively

I found their interviewing process to be painful. They are the most arrogant folks I have met in the software business in Boston. They are math majors, MIT grads and if you don't live recursion and pointers and can answer classic but stupid interview questions, both of the "how many ants fit in a car" and also the "show how a link list could solve a online book lending library" then don't bother applying.. At no point did I feel they were looking for smart people who can get things done. The entire time I felt like I was being tested by people who clearly demonstrated that they thought they knew best. Some humility would help. Publishing lots of blogs and articles on how _they_ do development doesn't give much room for adding others ideas.
