As this is a anonymous post, we are really not sure of the whom we are talking to. None the less, we always make efforts to close the offers on time. But if there are multiple discussions on roles/responsibilities or compensations, it some time takes time. From your post it appears that it took longer than our usual time and it could have been as a result of discussions on compensation/roles and is quite possible that position was closed by that time the discussions could be closed.
