Recommend not answering unless job expectations, description, etc., are reasonably well-defined; if pressed, name a high salary to cover for unexpected job requirements.

DO NOT ANSWER THIS QUESTION IF YOU WANT A JOB AT The MathWorks! The company wants to recruit people who care about things other than money. If you name a figure, it will appear that you are motivated by money. I would suggest some answer like "Money isn't my motivating factor, I'm really more interested in the company and the work". I know this is all nonsense, but the is the way this company works.

The key in these questions is to cover the fundamentals, and be ready for the back-and-forth with the interviewer. Might be worth doing a mock interview with one of the MathWorks or ex-MathWorks Engineering experts on Prepfully? They give real-world practice and guidance, which is pretty helpful. prepfully.com/practice-interviews
