Dimensional models are a way to store data in a business friendly way. Usually built on top of existing data like a warehouse or Hadoop. They are made up of dimensions and facts. Dimensions are certain attributes like product, location, or time. And facts are combinations of dimensions to answer questions like, how many products sold at this location at this time. Snowflake models are similar I but more normalized.
