Hospice is a service designed to keep those with terminal illnesses comfortable as their disease progresses. Hospice can help with equipment for the patients that other home care cannot. I have dealt with many hospice patients as my mother has had a private care home for many years. I have held many hands of patients taking their last breath. Hospice nurses are in my opinion the best nurses in the world. Hospice patients and their families need lots of compassion and require time from the nurses that may take them from home often. Hospice doesn’t end with the death of a patient, after care is also available for the family. Hospice care is a is a God send for many families in their time of need.
