I have been working at Anchor part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The residents, the external training and colleagues. The Anchor respect philosophy is great....if it was implemented.

    Cons

Some Team Leaders and management behave like you are beneath them as humans, when you’re actually a person with a wealth of life experience who genuinely tries their best. There’s is zero recognition when staff put in hard work, only accusations when things go wrong and attitude from SOME Team Leaders. Sometimes you could have worked the hardest you’ve ever done on a shift but then rather than say ‘oh that’s great, well done’ they come to your unit and pick on the whether the kitchen or lounge is tidy. Also, I actually witnessed an incident where a resident hit a colleague. Rather than checking if the staff member was ok, the colleague was reprimanded that the bedroom was cold because the window was open. Imagine that, told off for being hit! The colleague was upset and hurt, as she is a caring, hard working member of staff.
