Pros
I started as an Administrator/Coordinator and was given on the job training from the Manager; she was very helpful when I had questions. About 6 months later, I was given the opportunity to learn about sourcing candidates for specific roles and when I mentioned that I really enjoyed this role, the Manager asked if I would like to learn about recruiting as that would be the next step if I wanted it. I jumped at the opportunity as I love putting the two sides together - candidates and jobs. Given the types of jobs we filled, it was a challenge learning about the roles, but given the amount of help from Upper Management, it was easy as they were always helpful answering questions and given me advice with the jobs. When Manage see potential in an employee they want to help you reach it. This happened with other staff as well. It was very satisfying to hear that my candidate got the job that he/she wanted. I learned how to negotiate compensation and benefits packages; discussing candidates with employers in all types of property management companies.
Cons
It was fun working with my colleagues. Management listened to suggestions.
