Horrible culture, individuals don't live the values, managers lack vision and leadership - IT Project Manager bp Employee Review

Pros

Salary and benefits were OK for me.

Cons

Culture of fear, unable to really speak your mind or challenge the status quo - must toe the party line or say goodbye to any ideas of career progression. Managers are not leaders and have no vision or desire to change / improve ways of working. Values would be great but managers do not live them! Roles and responsibilities unclear, resulting in individuals duplicating / omitting tasks and conflict between team members. Organisation is overly complex - much simplification and cost cutting (getting rid of 'dead wood') could be made, but won't happen due to above points. Empire building and old boys network thrive, not many women here and if your face doesn't fit, you won't progress. Office is a zombie zone - nobody talks to each other. This is the most hostile, unfriendly work place I've ever encountered.

Pros

Benefits are better than most companies - great matching, HSA, pensions, and bonuses. The culture was great too, middle management was a pleasure to work with.

Cons

It’s easy to get stuck in one position if you’re a high performer. Seemed like if you’re good at your job you get stuck there while others get a lot more mobility. The options I had to move were all within the same sphere, great if you like what you are currently doing but not so much otherwise. Also, expect a re-org every 2-3yrs, change can be good but it was often disruptive during my tenure.
