Pros
A good entry level or seasonal job with opportunities to build strong relationships with loyal clientele. The production environment offers a fast-paced, physically engaging work experience, with solid camaraderie and teamwork on the production floor. Long-term employees may receive decent benefits, though staying long-term can be challenging given the overall work environment.
Cons
I worked at Caffe Vita’s NYC locations for 9 years in roles ranging from barista to East Coast Production & Distribution Manager. Looking back nearly a year later, it was the most toxic and demoralizing workplace I’ve experienced.
The root issues stem from a persistent breakdown in communication between corporate leadership and staff. Despite years of effort to improve conditions and morale on the ground, there was little meaningful progress. Opportunities for growth or internal promotion are extremely limited, and employee feedback is routinely ignored or dismissed.
I’m sharing this review in hopes of helping others avoid the same disheartening experience.
