Pros
Staff Discount, that's about it really
Cons
There is a strong culture of favouritism towards the top management's inner circle, which are made up of personal friends of the CEO and MD that they've hired into the company. If you are not part of that circle, don't expect to ever be treated with any respect. In fact, don't expect to have any rights whatsoever - you will be severely underpaid, have zero progression opportunity, non existent work-life balance, will not be given sick pay, or even be allowed to book doctors appointments without it being taken from your holiday entitlement. If you file any greivances to HR, it will be ignored and not formally filed, especially if you reference to any unequal treatment in the office. I have continously witnessed this 'inner circle' come into work 2+ hours late, while the other staff were given a disciplinary for being late just 1-5 mins. The employees part of this 'circle' are also very much aware of this double standard and will continue to abuse it. If a mistake is made that they are liable for, the blame will be put on you without any questioning from management. I have sat in meetings with top management where employees were spoken of in a very unprofessional manner, and mocked/discriminated against due to their physical appearance. At times, it was almost blatant racism and despite raising this with HR, it was again ignored as advised by top management. There is also a strong culture of finger-pointing as a result of the intense and unrealistic expectations from top management despite there being zero structure and planning in the company - everything is briefed to you last-minute but also 'top priority'. This company is run by a group of incompetent and arrogant people that continously take their frustrations on on their staff when targets are not hit, despite making no improvement to structure. When you achieve something great that exceeds targets/expectations, the question will be why you didn't achieve more. Expect an agressively unprofessional email from the CEO with all caps and endless amounts of '???!?!?!!?!?' I would also be expected to work and address emails up to 2am on weekdays, during weekends and while you're on leave. If you don't, expect an agressive email from the CEO when you return. It reached the point where my colleagues and I would experience intense anxiety and stress and couldn't stand it anymore. My entire department walked out at the same time and numerous others have followed suit since then. Don't make the same mistake as we did, it's not worth it. Since leaving this company and continuing to work in beauty, I have learned that the negative reputation of the company and members of top management has spread across the industry. Don't join into the sinking ship.
