Pros
As a police officer here you will be considered disposable and treated as such. You won’t have to ever worry about them demonstrating their appreciation of you in a meaningful way. You also won’t have to worry about equal opportunity here because DEI reigns supreme.
Cons
Working here is probably something like making a deal with the devil. You will trade the best years of your life serving the city only to find yourself rather unhealthy when you arrive at the end of your miserable journey through EPD.
The department has resources tasked with hiring as many new people as possible, but this has yet to solve the terrible staffing problem in the Patrol division. Why can’t the department attract real talent? Why can’t the department retain people on Patrol? Why can’t Patrol Officers get time off to be with family, friends, or to just experience a normal life.
Why don’t you hear the Sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains and etc. complaining about the working conditions? Government work rewards the managerial class with easy jobs while the working class grinds away.
