    Pros

There is a strong emphasis on a really positive culture at Metro. People really do try to help each other out.

    Cons

It’ll finding its feet with some processes, but there’s a real push for continuous improvement. It’s great to be a part of helping develop the bank!

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you’re doing!

I worked at Metro Bank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This was a truly remarkable place to work.. I had previously worked for another banking institution before deciding to join the revolution. From the moment I attended my Induction (known as Visions) the sense of intrigue and excitement just grew and grew. At first I felt it was too much, but it just went out to prove what made Metro Bank Different - Working in Store is in a different class altogether.. The colleagues...

    Cons

Press, press & more press.. You often find a negative customer who came in just to poke fun.. But hey, that's the public for you!

    Advice to Management

Recruitment team were a bit weak in terms of the process, but every stage after that is amazing (or Amazeing) - don't change, just keep doing whatever you're doing, it works.. (except the conga..)

I worked at Metro Bank full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

    - Magic Fridays - part of company culture (huddles and games). - Opportunities to take part in store openings. - Seasonal celebrations - gifts from Metro Man. - Opportunities are available however this is only based on favouritism/if you fit the mould or have a face that fits.

    Cons

    - Favouritism! - Not a system built on Meritocracy. - You are just a number. - Great teams do not last as people leave due to limited progression especially ethnic minorities. - Some management are toxic yet if they have a good relationship with their seniors all complaints are disregarded.

    Advice to Management

Danny, I validate the comments stated regarding Financial Crime more specifically AML. Please ensure your knowledge of the AML team is up to date as lead management are known to mis-lead. I am sure you can think of someone who is a great example of this. From my experience the AML Investigations team is the issue. This should be taken more seriously, from a team of 15-20 individuals there are only 1-2 non-white...
