Pros
The people you meet are amazing and you get great serving experience. 50% off food when clocked in is a plus. The option to be cross trained in bartending and to-go is available for good workers and I think that's a great opportunity. I learned a lot about wines and food pairings. Management was alright.
Cons
Endless soup, salad, and bread sticks drove me insane. Also, the drink promotion programs/scoring system they forced us into felt ridiculous. I understand that upselling is part of the job and should help us in the long-run, but honestly it was just obnoxious and the guests usually didn't care. Speaking of the guests, they're kind of the main reason I left. It may have just been me and the location I was at, but the guests were getting increasingly rude, unreasonable, and hard to please. I don't know if it's because they think Olive Garden is fine dining or what but the expectations are way too high for a casual "Italian" restaurant chain.
