Pros

Co-workers are lovely and it's a nice part of the country to work in

Cons

This company is toxic, don't be fooled by the fake exterior of the owner. Within weeks you will be bullied, put down, not managed properly, and made to feel like you can't do your job. I didn't see one person leaving this company on a good note, each kicked out in less than a year, sometimes even weeks or days. I'm sure that every employee who has come through this company is more than capable of doing their job and passionate about animals, but due to the micro-management from the owner, a lack of training and respect, and the way they were manipulated and treated, things never went smoothly. When the owner decides to turn up, she's usually heard screaming at suppliers and customers down the phone, or shouting at employees. OR she is ridiculously nice, you never knew what you were getting until she walked through that door - major split personality. I left this company feeling completely useless and like I couldn't do my job, which took me years to get over. I am now very successful but wish I hadn't wasted months at this company.

Podium Pet Products Response

This review has been written 3 years after employee left happily and of their own terms; she didn't manage to pass her probationary period and her notes at exit interview reflect that she decided the role was not customer facing enough for her. Her interaction with the owner was minimal (owner works abroad) and this review is an unnecessary jealous personal attack seeking to blame the company for her failure to achieve.

Pros

Hours to suit. Autonomous Role. Market accountability and responsibility. Satelite US office. Owner has great knowledge and is open to new ideas for marketing, product development, key stakeholders negotiations. Systems and processes are simple and easy to use. Products do what they say and have an excellent brand awareness for all the right reasons. Small agile team. Hands on, roll sleeves up - nothing is not your job. Great suite of tools to access independently. Lots of customer engagement.

Cons

Limited resources. Bread and Butter comes from the UK vs emerging markets. Communication flow due to geographic location.

Pros

Really great company if you are willing to work hard. No place to hide but inspiring leadership. Varied role but lovely market as its pet. Knowledgable board and great career progression, only had to leave as I needed to go home to SA.

Cons

I like a town but if you like rural, this is really lovely.
