Pros

Most of the people from middle management to shop floor are great. Many will have retired by the time project is finished though,

Cons

Senior management don’t seem to care how many people are leaving. Recycling plant is not pleasant environment to work in (staff are great it’s just messy). Focus seems to be on the project and everything else including staff falls by the way side, MMT are distant and very little information is communicated, health and safety focus seems to have gone, many younger staff have left and not been replaced leaving older workers to do more work. No overtime, no bonus. Pay rises have been below other businesses in the area for some years now. Morale is low and seems to go unnoticed by MMT.

Pros

Immediate management and colleagues have been supportive and felt like a family over my time here. Day-to-day teamwork has been a real positive experience.

Cons

Senior management and the parent company provide little direction or long-term planning. There is a lack of empowerment, limited recognition or reward, and overall low morale due to poor leadership decisions. Sitewide, from contractors on the main project to maintenance teams on the boiler, morale and attitude are at rock bottom, which makes it difficult to stay motivated.

Pros

Massive investment, securing jobs for generations to come. multinational teams with a diversity of experiences and cultures To build a World Class plant for Containerboard, Tissue paper at the same time enabling the cheapest cost per ton/meter2 in the UK industry. What a proposition to be part of this future.

Cons

Massive construction site with simultaneous projects. Getting the entire project over the line will be a huge challenge for all concerned. Its in wales, so its very green as it does rain quite a bit - but lovely countryside.
