Pros

I have 25+ years of work experience, and this was by far the best place I've ever worked. Pros are: a) it's fully online / remote b) very flexible hours and work arrangement - I could negotiate my projects and assignments c) very fair and honest feedback on my work, I always knew where I succeeded and what could be improved. Above all, it's the best team I've ever worked with - amazingly talented, hardworking and supportive people!

Cons

Work can be unpredictable - swamped one week, fiddling my thumbs the next. But it's really more of the type of industry, typical for companies that work on client projects. Turnover was high. Sonata has exceptionally high standards and expectations, and if someone isn't contributing 100%, they're out pronto. I've seen a lot of people come and go. But those who stay are the best!

Pros

Sonata is a fully remote company that allows for plenty of flexibility when needed so long as you can be consistent and reliable overall. The work is interesting and varied, and the people are smart, capable, and good-natured. If you want to work remotely as a professional writer and pull in consistent hours, you won’t find much better than this.

Cons

It can be difficult for a smaller company with relatively few full-time employees like Sonata to compete with larger corporations in terms of benefits.

Thanks so much - hopefully we'll be in a position to offer big corporate style benefits one day (or perhaps the US government will start offering single payer universal healthcare and real retirement security for citizens - wouldn't that be nice?)

Thanks for the kind words. And yes, it's tough being a micro-small business serving giant organizations... really appreciate the effort the team puts in to keep clients happy.
