General Farm Worker

On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit General Farm Workers for their Dairy Farm based in Grassington, BD23.

Job Overview

• Support the day-to-day running of a busy dairy farm with a 300-cow herd based in Grassington.
• Carry out milking, feeding, and general livestock duties to maintain high standards of animal welfare and farm productivity.
• Work closely with the Herd Manager and wider farm team to ensure smooth farm operations during allocated shifts.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment across all farm areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate milking equipment and assist with routine milking procedures.
• Feed livestock according to farm schedules and nutritional requirements.
• Monitor animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to the Herd Manager.
• Clean and maintain milking parlours, feeding areas, and farm equipment.
• Assist with bedding, yard cleaning, and general farm maintenance tasks.
• Follow strict hygiene, biosecurity, and animal welfare standards.
• Support with moving livestock safely between sheds, parlours, and grazing areas.
• Ensure all duties are completed efficiently and to a high standard during each shift.
• Work collaboratively with other farm staff to maintain productivity and herd care.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in dairy farming, milking, or livestock handling is desirable but not essential.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Honest and conscientious with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable working in an outdoor and physically demanding environment.
• Good timekeeping and ability to work early morning and evening shifts.
• Willingness to follow farm health & safety procedures and animal welfare guidelines.
• Positive attitude and flexibility to support different farm duties as required.

Shift Availability

AM Shifts

• Thursday: 07:00 – 10:30
• Friday: 07:00 – 10:30
• Saturday: 07:00 – 10:30
• Sunday: 07:00 – 10:30

PM Shift

• Wednesday: 19:00 – 21:45

We are seeking candidates who are able to work one or multiple shifts

Pay & Benefits

• AM shifts: £15.55 per hour
• PM shifts: £19.47 per hour
