Service & Maintenance Technician

Trust Hygiene Services Ltd is a friendly, family orientated but professional hygiene company with the head office based in Walsall and we are looking for an experienced and professional Service & Maintenance Technician.

We are looking for a practical, reliable and professional individual to join our engineering team. Whilst previous maintenance or service experience would be beneficial, full training will be provided and therefore this role may suit someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys hands-on work and is confident using basic tools.

You will offer support to our current team of Installation engineers, who currently install and repair laundry auto-dosing units, mains fed water coolers and boilers, product dispensers and washroom equipment throughout the UK and Wales. We employ a great team of professional and highly motivated people to keep up with our fast-moving sector.

This role would suit a motivated individual who is a team player that is also capable of working on their own initiative. The ideal candidate would have experience of servicing water coolers and boilers and or carrying maintenance on tube changes on Laundry dosing systems, however full training will be given. As a face of Trust Hygiene, we would need you to be people focused, enjoy problem solving, driven and take pride in delivering excellent customer service.

Hours: Monday to Friday, minimum 45 Hours per week. Usually working around 9 hours per day, with varying start and finish times, depending upon customer requirements and location.

Salary: £33k per annum. There is also a bonus scheme of up to £1000 per annum.

Service & Maintenance Engineer duties include, but are not limited to:

• Nationwide planned maintenance and replacing tubing, fittings and components on laundry dosing systems and mains-fed water coolers and boilers, in settings including care homes, schools, commercial premises and offices.
• Installing and maintaining product dispensers and washroom equipment.
• Carrying out basic plumbing and maintenance tasks as required.
• Adhering to policies and procedures relating to health and safety, whilst servicing and maintaining equipment
• Planning and assigning alongside the Admin team and company router the planned maintenance folders and servicing workload into your diary for the month ahead, ensuring optimal efficiency of your time.
• Monitoring and ordering stock required for you to carry out your role.
• Review and advise on the suitability of equipment out in the field.
• Ensure water cooler services are met within the agreed timescale to remain compliant with legionella legislation.
• Occasional refurbishment of returned equipment.
• General DIY and maintenance at Trust Hygiene Premises as and when requested.
• Adhoc support to our Installation engineers with large dispenser installations this could include delivery of equipment or assisting to install dispensers.
• Please note; occasional overnight stopovers will be required when on long distance service folders/installations.

Required skills/experience:

• A Full Clean driving licence is essential for this role.
• Previous experience in maintenance, DIY, facilities, installation, building maintenance, trade, service or similar practical work would be advantageous.
• Confident using hand tools and carrying out practical repair and maintenance tasks.
• A practical and problem-solving approach to work.
• Service engineering/facilities maintenance experience advantageous
• Basic plumbing knowledge / experience advantageous
• Working knowledge of Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of IPAD/IPhone
• Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
• Be flexible and committed.
• Have a positive can-do attitude.
• Be an excellent timekeeper.
• Attention to detail.
