I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Starbucks (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2008
Interview
It's important to be yourself. They look for personality when interviewing.Starbucks is a place of customer service so its vital that you can show you know how to talk to people. The conversation during the interview will be about your approach to customer service and if you've had any experience. Even if it's your first job, consider yourself as a customer and discuss those experiences. It's an easy going interview. It's better to just feel relaxed when you interview. Don't think that anyone can get that job. It's not always as easy as it seems. Have good work ethics and show your talkative side. Starbucks is about connecting and getting to know people and throwing in the aspect of coffee. Be willing to learn about coffee and you don't have to try to impress them with your coffee knowledge.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
From a customers perspective, when was there a time when you experienced good.customer service or bad customer service? What made this experience stand out?
Received an email asking to schedule an interview for the following week. The interview took place in the store itself, and took about 15 minutes. The questions were pretty average.
First interview went well, just the basic behavioral questions that should be answered using the STAR method. Second interview was less questions but with the district manager. Still waiting to hear back (if they reach out at all).

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to navigate a situation where the supervisor wasn’t available.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
