I worked at Target full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Prestige, stability and career path of a large, established company with a culture of energy and ambition associated with an entrepreneurial environment. Various in-house training and development opportunities. If you navigate the politics well, you can in many ways control your own destiny. The atmosphere is intense and driven, but the energy is refreshing and can be genuinely fun.

    Cons

Very intense workload. Highly political, and can be cliquish. Management can be hands-off even when a bit of coaching may be in order. There is a certain element of passive aggression that seems to be part of the culture, as well, but perhaps that's just the "Minnesota" factor.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The level of political intrigue is at times a bit gratuitous.
