What is the hiring process like at BoomPop?

      Pros

My time at BoomPop has been fantastic - from the transparent and friendly hiring process, through on-boarding, and now as a trained employee. And speaking of training...this is a job in events with actual training and support! The team has been so welcoming. Everyone here roots for each other, and leadership keeps you updated and feeling connected to the mission, our goals, and each other. It's amazing to have such a strong culture as a remote company but it's super healthy and the work is challenging and interesting, but not overwhelming.

      Cons

You definitely have to set boundaries or you could easily work all the time, as with any job in events. And while there is plenty of support and resources, if you need constant hand-holding, this is not the job for you. As event planners we are empowered to use the resources available to us and lean on our teams as needed, but we also need to be smart, responsible, and manage our own "stuff".

People-first recruiting with some early-stage growing pains

      Pros

I went through BoomPop’s recruiting process for a senior role and later joined the company, so I’ve seen HR/recruiting from both sides. The recruiting experience was strong: expectations were clear, interviews were well-structured, and everyone I met was prepared and respectful of my time. The people team and hiring managers are very transparent and did a great job of sharing context on the role, compensation, and how success would be measured, which made the decision to join feel thoughtful rather than rushed.

      Cons

That said, it’s still a startup, so there are predictable growing pains: schedules can shift, priorities sometimes change mid-process, and not every interviewer is perfectly calibrated on the same rubric. HR is small but hardworking, and they’re actively trying to build more structure around hiring, onboarding, and career paths. Overall, if you’re comfortable with some early-stage ambiguity, the recruiting process is transparent and human, and you get a pretty accurate picture of the culture before you join.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful and balanced review. We really appreciate the perspective of having seen BoomPop from both the candidate and employee side, and we’re glad to hear that the recruiting experience felt transparent and human. You’re absolutely right that, as an early-stage company, there are moments where priorities shift and processes continue to evolve. We’re actively investing in stronger structure around hiring, onboarding, and career development while staying true to the people-first values that define our culture. Feedback like this helps us refine and improve as we grow. We’re grateful for your contributions and for being part of this chapter at BoomPop. Thanks for helping us build something better along the way.

      Pros

My experience with BoomPop has been exceptional from the recruitment stage onward. During my initial call with the recruiting team, the process was clearly explained and progressed efficiently. Upon joining the team, I was welcomed warmly, and everyone was eager to assist. Management is consistently supportive, and the entire team is solution-oriented and collaborative. Overall, this has been a truly positive experience, and I look forward to building a long-term career with BoomPop.

      Cons

This is a startup, so while there are challenges, they are typical of the learning curves and bumps that come with building a new business.
