What is the hiring process like at DataAnnotation?

My view on the company after little over a year

      Business outlook

      Pros

Freedom to choose when to work and where to work. Considering the country I'm in (Brazil), the pay rates are better than most other companies offering similar work. Periods with work to do have always lasted longer than periods with no work to do.

      Cons

Insecurity, work might get repetitive. Little to no opportunity to grow inside the company, with no feedback on any eventual selection process.

      Works, but always changing projects

      Pros

I signed up as a part-time remote worker to train LLMs; I mostly did coding tasks. It's incredible to get paid relatively well ($40/hr) to do remote coding work without going through the hoops of a hiring process.

      Cons

The projects always changed and became overly complicated. Any time you figured out a good project to work on, it would be retired.

      Pros

DAT is the first and also the best company I've been working for in the AI training industry. Job opportunities can fluctuate from time to time for bilinguals like me. However, everywhen a project appears in my dashboard, it's always worth the wait. The PAY is great, the job itself is interesting and challenging. My professional/cultural knowledge is rewarded amazingly at DAT. Last but not least, the working flow is a big plus. It's simple and convenient. Workers just need to sign in and start working directly on the platform. The earning is added immediately once you report your working time and fund claiming process is just easy and on time! Lucky me I found DAT and got accepted!!!

      Cons

Jobs can be fluctuate from time to time.

Great pay and engaging tasks, but inconsistent work availability.

      Pros

Excellent pay for remote tasks, clear instructions and well structured projects, flexible work hours and fair evaluation and smooth onboarding process. Overall a positive experience when tasks are available.

      Cons

Very low and inconsistent task availability. Long periods with no work and hard to rely on as a consistent source of income as advertised.

      Pros

      Cons

Income varies with project availability (typical of freelance work)

      Pros

Remote; anytime you can pick up a project and start working. Self-manage; you determine what projects you will pick up and commit to work on Simple; the process to get qualified was straight forward, set up to get paid was not complicated, and they delivered on their payments

      Cons

Restricting; after securing about 2k for myself within 2 weeks, I found myself without any projects to work on, as if they cut me off from continuing to work for them. However, I did receive the money I earned from my jobs. Qualifications: it took 3 weeks of doing 1 task a day for their qualification test, which was similar to the project I was doing for pay. Good practice, but free labor.

      Pros

      - Can work whenever you want, as much as you want - Pay *has potential* to be good ($25-$65 per hour) - Can do work related to your field (with degree), or more generalized work (without degree) - Interview process is literally just taking a test - Good if looking for extra income or part-time work - Doing good work results in more projects sent your way - 100% Work from home (or somewhere with wifi)

      Cons

      - Almost no human interaction at all - No benefits of any sort (no healthcare, dental, etc...) - No matter how many hours you put in, you are always self-employed - Availability of work fluctuates - Work in your specific field may not always be available - Can be difficult to make it a full time job - They can drop you without warning or notice - No possibility of career growth as far as I can tell - Some projects require you to work 8+ hours in a day, others only 30 minutes. The act of checking how long a project will take means it might no longer be available to you if you wait too long.

      Business outlook

      Pros

Flexible - I can work whenever I want. Pay - It pays very well in my opinion. Fun - It is very fun if you enjoy creative writing. You have to make sure you are doing quality work. If your quality slips, they will take jobs away or kick you off the platform. Just because it is remote and not directly supervised, doesn't mean you can just get passive income from it. You have to have good self-direction and work ethic, or this job is not for you.

      Cons

No benefits as it is like independent contract work. Not everyone gets on - there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the hiring process.
