What is the hiring process like at Equinix?

      Equinix reviews

      An organization in pain

      Sr manager-hr
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Compensation, stock, most benefits, new CEO

      Cons

Toxic weaponized culture, multiple ineffective reorganizations, roles significantly different from how they are communicated during hiring process, many people who have been with the company for 10+ years making it hard to evolve.

      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Nice office, good team, easy hiring process

      Cons

No real scheme for to convert to graduate

Decent pay and flexibility, but frequent layoffs loom

      Product manager
      Former employee
      Singapore
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Decent pay, decent income stock, flexible work arrangements, good benefits, good managers, generally good cross-functional teams.

      Cons

Layoffs are an annual practice, and it is unlikely you can find a position internally before you are let go, as the interview process generally takes a couple of months, even for internal hires. Depending on your position, if you work with teams across multiple regions (AMER, EMEA, APAC, LATAM), you won't have the best work-life balance since your meeting times mostly favors US, or the majority.

A Company That Truly Values Its People and Operational Excellence

      Ibx critical facility engineer iv
      Current employee
      Frankfurt am Main
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Strong onboarding process with clear expectations and good support during the initial months Highly professional and safety-focused work environment Knowledgeable and supportive colleagues who are always willing to help Emphasis on teamwork and collaboration across shifts and teams Opportunities to learn and grow in a mission-critical data center environment Well-structured processes and clear operational standards Global company with strong values and a culture of respect and inclusion Good exposure to advanced infrastructure and industry best practices Management encourages accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement

      Cons

Steep learning curve, especially in a mission‑critical environment with high responsibility Work can be demanding at times, particularly during incidents or maintenance windows Shift work and on-call expectations may impact work–life balance for some roles Processes and approvals can sometimes feel complex due to the scale of operations New employees may need time to fully adapt to systems, tools, and internal procedures

      Lots of changes, big pressure

      Regional manager
      Current employee
      Hong Kong
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

Used to be a great company, great benefits, really putting DEI first. Still have WFH 3 days a week.

      Cons

New management, laying middle management in the regions and hiring top level in HQ or N. America. no job security (laying off people every Q due to performance). no one is safe anymore. they will let people at the bottom 10% to go. Bonus no longer as good as before

      Intern Review

      Product manager intern
      Former intern
      Sunnyvale, CA
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

If you want to be able to step outside of your comfort zone a lot.

      Cons

Manager was not very hands on at all, They never reached out to returns regarding their performance review and potential return offers. Also their is a lack of diversity especially in a tech position.

Read the reviews. The culture is the problem.

      Director
      Current employee
      Recommend
      CEO approval
      Business outlook

      Pros

A great place to collect a pay check. If you smile and don’t have opinions, you will go far. You can hire family and friends to build your own internal support system. You can be here for 10, 15, 20 years and have zero impact to the business. No one will ask you do work hard or accomplish much.

      Cons

There is a culture shift where the new CEO wants to drive performance and improve efficiency - great - but it is not being executed consistently across the company. The old guard is resisting change and dragging feet to get things done. New talent is being hired to make change but it is being resisted. Everything requires consensus and a huge amount of time to get done. The number of needless meetings is astonishing.
