What is working from home like at Massage Envy?

This was one of the first remote jobs they had created in the New England area, letting me work from home. Great benefits, competitive pay, and competent management helped create a solid working environment. Was also able to get free monthly massage sessions as an employee there!

Sometimes it was difficult to reach certain clinics for help due to some short staffing or peak busy time frames. Compared to other jobs, there were higher chances of dealing with entitled or bossy clientèle due to the nature of what we provided.

None except health insurance and it’s not any good

Highly toxic and hostile environment to work in! Management is not trained and obviously has no experience and it shows. Franchise owner isn’t much better as he allows horrible things to happen in the workplace and doesn’t care about it and doesn’t resolve issues. The manager will set you up for failure and give tons of false accusations against employees and write ups left and right when she’s there and on her monthly period or in a bad mood. Management is hardly ever present at work and when she is she doesn’t do any work. She clocks in to work from home and leaves early every day from work for her personal reasons on company time. I have documented all of these things. When I went to Human Resources and higher up management I was basically told that I was the problem and guilty of all of these negative allegations against me. They take the managers side all of the time. Threatened to reduce my weekly hours and hold my wages earned. I was blatantly retaliated against by management and the franchise owner. The manager claimed that she is a woman of integrity and has morals but her lies and showing favoritism to other employees show differently. You can literally be employee of the month and the next month you receive write ups and fired the next month without warning or notice.

After 20 plus years in another field, I joined Massage Envy earlier this year. I've had the pleasure of working with incredible providers who are as kind as they are talented. Our manager is efficient, caring, and gives 110% to our clients and staff. The schedule is flexible, and accommodates a healthy balance between work and home. Our clients are all lovely, and being able to assist them in their journey in self care had become one of my life's greatest joys.

The only thing I can think of is that at times it can be difficult to keep up on back of house duties when the front desk gets busy.
