Pros
There is no company I could recommend working for less than Nati Boutique.
Cons
It's hard to know where to start, but please understand that no matter how many Cons are listed below, it won't come close to covering the full scope of dysfunction within this company. The owners only care about one thing, making a profit. At the expense of their customers and staff, they will bend over backwards to ensure they, and they alone, benefit financially. As the Head of HR discussing state/federal regulations and compliance issues I was concerned about, the Co-Owner and CFO once told me, "as long as I'm not actively being sued, I don't care." Employees of every level regularly came to me with concerns about the owners. These concerns were often met with retaliation when brought to their attention. A common complaint among employees was Nati verbally abusing her staff, many times in front of customers. I was also informed that Nati had a habit of intentionally charging customers for items they didn't want during checkout. Due to the strict No Returns policy, customers who discovered this after checking out were informed they could only exchange for another item or receive store credit for a future purchase. The potential for growth is limited, as you'll likely quit or be let go before you have the opportunity to advance, There is virtually no interest in employee development, despite the best efforts of many well-meaning employees. It wasn't uncommon for the owners to fire someone after their first week or even their first day if they suddenly decided they no longer liked them. There is no rhyme or reason to their compensation offerings. Whether you're a salaried or part-time hourly employee, they determine how much you are worth to them based solely on how much they like you at that moment. If you're family, they'll happily pay you nearly twice the salary of any other full-time employee, with the added benefit of unlimited PTO. The "warehouse" in Venice is a parking space they use illegally as their operations HQ. Until May of 2024, there were no employee bathrooms for Venice staff - employees were made to walk to restaurant bathrooms in the area. Only recently did they begin making plans for obtaining a legitimate office space complete with a bathroom for employees. A large percentage of their positive Google reviews have been left by employees and family members. No one seeking employment at any level should consider working for this company. While many wonderful, hard-working, and compassionate people have joined the team, they have consistently been run out by the owners' refusal to focus on anything other than profit margins, and their complete disregard for anyone attempting to implement policies/practices that could benefit employees or foster a positive, inclusive, and transparent work environment.
