What is the salary like at Owens Corning?

On the two separate occasions I worked at Owens Corning the pay was great with consistent opportunity for overtime. Just like with most things they go down the list by hire date and no one was passed over. Training also worked the same way and you are generally trained for the position above you so you can do the job if someone calls out or is on vacation.

The rotating schedule is rough no matter which version they use. Things improved later but my initial training was not adequate. While many days are easy/normal there were often very hard days. (To be completely fair we had a lot of new employees while I was there and this certainly had something to do with it.)

Good starting pay, good benefits

Don't expect a merit or cost of living raise or a promotion. Shift is difficult 2 (12 hr days, 6:45a - 7p), 24 hours off, 2 (12 hr nights, 6:45p - 7a), 3 1/2 days off) Rinse and repeat.

Good pay especially when overtime is available.

Alternating shifts between night shift and day shift. There is regular “down time” and that takes a big toll in how much you make. Extremely hot in the summer and cold in the winter.

Great pay, overtime even better. Sick pay bonus. Great shop floor morale, unionised.

Poor management, bad decisions. HR clueless.

Great insurance and good pay

Horrible work atmosphère. People with no éducation and no class. No communication whatsoever

Culture is getting lost. It's not the same OC as when I started with the company. Lack of flexibility, lack of transparency, lack of communication, constant turnover of leadership. Force of return to office. Going from a lean company to an extremely lean company. When people exit, they are not always backfilled, and their work is added to someone else that already has too much on their plate. Company values are amazing, but they are more talk than walk.
