Pros
Healthcare and that's literally it.
Cons
What SEIU fights for workers, they impose the opposite for employees. Believe me when I and others tell you. Do NOT work here. I had to use a benefit they offer, STD, and fought them for 2 weeks to get it (even though it was their offered benefit). Everyone knew my business including HR, my manager, the locals attorney, all the way up to trustees. They threatened my job if I didnt come back even though I was under 2 doctors orders not to. It was only resolved when my union stepped up. My manager was constantly bringing up "well when I was an Organizer I had to do XYZ". Good for you! So youre just replicating toxic and hostile work environments. Awesome. Have a car? Better be ready to put a ton of miles on it because youre driving all day for hours on end. The mileage they pay is paltry and you have to run up a ridiculous amount of miles before they even start paying you. In my office there was clear favoritism and sexism from my manager. You're expected from day one to hand your life over to SEIU so you can forget about work life balance. Communication was also a huge joke. Everything last minute (literally where and when I reported often changed and happened on the same day) so forget about your personal life. The entire org is built on hypocrisy. Labor union employees are not treated with any dignity or respect! Look elsewhere! I could NOT wait to get fired from here! Make them fire you so they have to pay your unemployment!
