Pros
1. Can be fun
2. Meet cool people
3. Learn about cars, oil and services
4. When there is no cars you have down time. (A break)
5. Free Oil changes every 3 months.
6. Small commission on products and services.
7. Alot of promotion opportunities
Cons
1. There are no actual breaks, You could work 10 hours straight and not have a 5 minute break to eat.
2. When you do manage to not have a car in the shop, If your KPI's (numbers you need to hit for the day) are not met, Odds are you will be outside holding a sign to get cars in the shop. Also stocking, cleaning things that are already clean so it "looks like you are doing something".
3. You are paid so terribly its actually comical. Local oil change shops that are not corporate run and only have 1 location still pay more then Take 5. You are paid starting out $12/hr, local places on average pay 16-18. Dealerships for the same work pay 18-25. AND THEY DO LESS CARS AND WORK!
4. You are punished for not hitting KPI's. If you do not sell the proper amount for so many weeks in a row you will be let go. Fortunately with turnover rate and short staff stores everywhere they wont fire you because they cant replace you.
5. Promotions are strictly based on your selling stats. You could have 10,000, 10 star reviews and never have been written up (coached for some jobs) and not be promoted because you don't sell enough.
6. They will try to make you do management work as a technician and not pay you for it. They try to get free work out of everyone.
7. You will be lead on for promotions for months and never actually get it.
8. if its not exactly I think its 45* then the bay doors have to be open. Apparently corporate thinks that if the doors are closed then customers think we are closed. Even though we have open signs, the bay doors are made of glass so you can see inside and idk.. GOOGLE LITERALLY LISTS THE BUISNESS HOURS!
