Does US Foods offer sponsored degrees?

Pros

Fair benefits and tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Area Executive leadership team lacks the ability to manage objectively across all functions of the business. They fail to take accountability for the entire business and often neglect development of the operations people and processes. All support is driven toward the sales team which is why they are behind competitors in supply chain efficiencies. The Leadership team is unethical in treating employees equally and do not take appropriate action against harassment or discrimination issues when necessary. This type of protection is usually seen in the sales team.

Advice to Management

Evaluate the area leadership team to ensure ethical business practices are being done.

What is the retirement plan like at US Foods?

Pros

Good benefits, 401K match. Work from home.

Cons

There is way too much pressure on Buyers at this company on their service levels that are unrealistic. There are so many variables that are out of your control, but hit your numbers. You have to speak to them. I have never dealt with such unreliable trucks that are late. The buying is so complicated due to building truckloads, no backorders, vendor cuts, forecast errors, customers overpulling, etc. Any experienced Buyer- beware of taking a job here. The buying is completely different, and you are thrown in when you first start with little direction. My manager & Buyer II are not supportive and useless.

Advice to Management

Stop holding people accountable for things that are out of our control. Put better people in management roles.

Good benefits, 401K match.
