What is working from home like at University of Chicago?

Good benefits, lovely neighborhood, great commute, flexible work arrangements, tuition benefits available

Budget deficits, not a lot of opportunities for promotion

lower than average pay dealing with faculty pitiful yearly raises regardless of performance

Good pay for relatively low cost of living. Good health insurance. Academic community is supportive. Can work from home if needed.

The work and life balance is great. I work from home 3-4 days a week, depending on ongoing projects. The benefits are good also.

At least for my department, it is fairly small and most days people will work from home. You dont have a traditional office environment.
