What is working from home like at University of Michigan?

Nothing really. It’s a great part time job

Flexible timeframe, work from home, plenty of resources.

High constraint guidelines, hard to interview when not in person.

Very flexible hours while also a lot of independence (ex: work from home). Also benefits are great mainly health insurance and PTO.

As a postdoc fellow, the pay is subpar, but that is a consequence of being in academia. I hope the skills learned translates to a higher paying job elsewhere. There is also no employer match for retirement accounts.

My patients! There is nothing more rewarding then having "that connection" with a patient and building a trusting relationship with them. Intake positions are work from home so that was wonderful! Management is involved and engaged with their employees. Management is also very flexible with time off requests. I had the best co-workers! Everyone is always willing to help each other, including our Call Center crew who all rock! And on that note, so do the benefits!

Hm....well I don't really have any "cons"! The ones I did have are from issues that were from years ago and they had been resolved well before my departure, otherwise my departure would've have been a whole lot sooner! Lol

Miscommunication in terms of raises

Stable, incredible work life balance, support for hybrid and remote work, extremely helpful administrative staff to help with ergonomics, illness, etc. Ann Arbor is also incredibly walkable and easy to commute.

Somewhat difficult to grow - there isn't necessarily an incentive to do so other than personal motivation and relationships.
