What is the hiring process like at Von Maur?

Interview process was extremely smooth, nothing was automated and I was in touch with a real person the entire time. While the internship took place in the stores, we were able to learn about the entire company with a 2 day Corporate office visit, which was extremely beneficial.

Store management is unpredictable, I was unable to complete all of the promised internship tasks due to staffing issues in the store.

Very friendly staff, clean store, everything is very organized. I feel like you will have a very long career at Vanmar. If you have great attention to detail and you know how to hold your team accountable and really show. Great customer service.

This company is extremely outdated to the point where it is very hard to hire a new staff. Up to recently women were only allowed to wear skirts, as far as dress code goes women are only allowed to wear black pants. The ideal that people cannot have their cell phones near them is very interesting considering there are an individual who have to take care of sickly parents, have kids, currently pregnant, and have had cancer and needed to connect with their doctors. The history of the company has let people go over such a mediocre reasons and I feel like they will always have a hard time hiring individual who wanted to stick it out with the company. The company does not believe in advertising for themselves, but will opening advertise for other companies in their store. They’re very outdated ideologies that is currently going on.
