I applied online. I interviewed at 1X Technologies (San Carlos, CA) in Feb 2026
Interview
Solid interview experience overall, even if the outcome wasn't what I hoped for. The process was well-organized and the recruiter I spoke with was communicative and respectful of my time. It's clear 1x moves quickly, the stages were efficient and I never felt like I was left hanging for long.
The conversations themselves were substantive. They asked thoughtful questions about how I build relationships with hiring managers, handle high-volume pipelines, and navigate ambiguity, which tells you something about what they actually value. It wasn't a box-ticking exercise.
The pace of the company comes through even in the interview process. Things move fast and they seem to want people who are genuinely comfortable with that. If you're used to more structured environments, be ready to demonstrate flexibility.
Didn't get an offer, but I came away with a good impression of the team and no complaints about how the process was handled. Sometimes it's just not the right fit, and they were professional about it.

I applied online. I interviewed at 1X Technologies (California City, CA) in Apr 2026
Interview
Started with recruiter call. Attended a coding round, question was based on graph data structure, not leetcode style but related to the role description. Proceeded to design round, but it was not typical system design. It is AI-assisted coding round where they told I was asked to create a system for a the given question. Both the interviewers were very friendly Received very positive feedback from both of them during the interview, but was not selected. Had a positive experience though
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at 1X Technologies (Hayward, CA) in Mar 2026
Interview
I had a very disappointing experience with 1X Technologies during the hiring process. After being told I was their top contender for the position, I was given a verbal offer along with a start date. I accepted, expecting the formal written offer to follow shortly after. Unfortunately, that formal offer never came.
I reached out to the recruiter for three days in a row and received no response at all. Being told you have the job, given a start date, and then left without any communication is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to a candidate’s time and trust.
I understand that hiring decisions can change, but clear and honest communication should be the bare minimum. Ghosting someone after extending a verbal offer reflects very poorly on the company’s recruiting process. Beyond disappointed.
