This was the most bizarre hiring experience I’ve ever encountered. After several rounds of interviews, I was told I would receive an offer letter within a day or two. When the offer letter finally arrived, it included inflated benefits to obscure the base salary I had requested. I pushed back, and we negotiated further. The company then verbally agreed to my terms and promised to send a revised offer letter. And then?
Complete silence.
I’ve heard of candidates being ghosted after applying, but after several rounds of interviews and reaching an agreement on the offer? That’s beyond unprofessional. On a human level, it’s outright disrespectful.
In hindsight, I’m certain I dodged a bullet and ended up with a better opportunity elsewhere. However, it’s important to call out this level of disregard. If this is how they treat potential hires, I can only imagine how they handle client relationships. This company operates with a startup mentality, regardless of how many years they’ve been in business, and their HR function seems nonexistent. There were a few red flags during the interviews that I should have trusted.
Save yourself the time and avoid this company. The lack of transparency, integrity, and professionalism speaks volumes.
