I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at ACME Plastics (Woodland Park, NJ) in Mar 2020
Interview
I was contacted directly by a recruiter who found me on Linked In. He was trying to encourage me to come in for an interview based on my previous experience. I went in to the interview. The company recruiter and the manager conducted the interview. They asked me a few questions. I have a lot of experience. I didn't think it was a problem since he mentioned he hired someone with no experience just because she was nice. I came in a day earlier for the interview due to the coronavirus. I was asked twice if I had children. This is an illegal question. I did respond and explained my children were older. I was asked if I wanted to come back the following week, but did not receive a call back even though I reached out to them.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at ACME Plastics in Mar 2017
Interview
I got a phone call 2 days after I applied for the job. The manager on the phone asked if I had time to answer some questions and we had a phone interview. We went over my work history in great detail. He was very nice. He said he had two positions in mind for me (CSR and sales) and would like me meet with the owner. I met the owner 2 days later. He just sat and stared at me without asking any questions. The manager I originally spoke to came in and said since we already went over your work history lets get to know you personally. Then he asked me a couple of questions regarding hobbies and such . The whole thing was extremely awkward and I'm not sure why the owner just sat there staring. Owner finally asked me if I knew HTML which I had no idea why I would need to know that to be a salesperson. The owner walked out in the middle of the interview. The manager asked if I had any questions for them which I found funny because there's only one of them in the room. I asked my questions but at that time he could see I was annoyed.
