Applied online for one of the open ELDP Manager in Training programs. Received a call from a local Store Manager and had a preliminary phone screening which just asked some basic information. Got a call a week later asking to come in for an interview on a late afternoon.
Interview was conducted by an HR rep from the company along with a Store Manager from a different location. You can tell they interviewed a ton of people that day as the table was cluttered with interview decks/reviews.
Very basic behavioral questions about past experiences, with a couple of questions to determine how you positively affected P&L at your previous employers. Nothing challenging at all. Interview seemed somewhat rushed though, as I could tell they were about done for the day and wanted to head out.
Asked my questions at the end of the interview and was informed that I would be hearing from their talent department within a week regardless of their decision. I felt very strong about my answers, gave specific examples, etc., sent thank you notes to both interviewers when I arrived home.
They obviously had made up their mind about a candidate before I entered the room, as it has been 3 weeks with no response. Not like it doesn't happen to others, but a pet peeve of mine is just flat out giving no response or feedback after the interview. Very unprofessional in my mind. I know these days the employers hold all the cards, but at least a "No you suck" would have been sufficient.
