The job posting said certain kinds of experience were preferred but not required. Job description was 1 sentence and stated "general knowledge". So I shot my shot and reached out about the job, included my resume. They reached out for an interview. 2 weeks later after some back and forth we set a time and date for a phone interview. No one called at the time set so I called them. The owner seemed confused and thought I had already interviewed with the other owner. I was then told I didn't have enough experience for the position. The duties and *required* experience were then rattled off, none of which were on the job posting. This process was very strange. I thought it odd that they wanted to interview me when they had my resume, showing I'd be new to this field. Either they didn't look at it or didn't care, but then it was insufficient at the interview they themselves weren't on time for. I felt my time was wasted because all of this could have been avoided with a clear job posting.
