I interviewed for the position of Global Director of Marketing, Digital PR & Marketing Communications at ASBIS, and overall the experience left mixed but generally positive impressions.
On the positive side, the company presents itself as a strong international player with ambitious goals and a well-established presence in global markets. The interview discussions were professional and focused on strategic marketing, digital PR, international communications, brand positioning, and leadership experience. It was clear that the role requires a high level of independence, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage global marketing initiatives across different regions.
At the same time, the recruitment process felt somewhat lengthy and not always fully transparent. Communication regarding timelines and next steps could have been more structured and proactive. There was also an impression that internal decision-making processes may involve multiple layers of approval, which can slow things down.
What stood out positively was the scale of the projects, the international scope of the business, and the opportunity to work on global marketing and communication strategies. The company appears to be actively growing and investing in its international brand development.
Overall, the interview process gave me the impression of a company with strong potential, interesting global-level challenges, and a corporate environment that values strategic expertise, although with a somewhat traditional and complex internal structure.
