I was contacted by the HR some time ago for this position over WhatsApp and followed with a phone call on the day. During the call she asked me SOP questions. One of the question which stood out was if I am OK if not leading a team although the JD states that it is a "IC or leadership" role. I hesitated for a while since I have been leading a team for the last 10 years now. When it was my turn to ask question, I asked her what's the team size and she struggled to answer that simple question, mumbling and bragging about multisite teams, and finally threw me a figure just get over the awkward situation. The role "reports" to an AI scientist and I am doubtful how a "scientist" could possibly manage / run a team. It was then apparent to me that even a HR in a talent aquisition position was also unclear about the setup of the organization which really suggests she doesn't know what she was doing and also agrees with many of the reviews that have been posted about this company. It's hard to believe that this 9 year old "unicorn" company manages to secure funding. Are the investors out of their mind?
