This position was listed through a recruiting agency. There was an online resume submission and application for the recruiting agency, which was followed up by a phone interview with the recruiter. Following this, an in-person interview was set up with Affiliated Foods. At the initial interview appointment, I completed an application and met with three company representatives. A follow-up appointment included a typing test, 10-key test, and personality evaluation which was followed up by a second interview. They requested authorization for a background check and credit check.
I felt that the questions asked at the interview were pretty normal questions, both behavioral-based and others. All of the interviewers were wonderful and easy to speak with, and were very knowledgeable.
There were two 'stand-out' points I found should be noted about this interview process. First, I would recommend for the company and recruiter to look into a way to expedite the credit and background checks, perhaps obtaining the paperwork authorizing these checks early in the information collection process, so a check can be run as soon as the company has interest in a candidate (this could be submitted at the same time as the personality testing, for example). Applicants should be aware that this process, as it was executed for my interview, added a few weeks to an overall 46-day process when all was said and done.
The second point, it would be good if the company had a surety of moving forward for the positions being hired, if someone is selected for follow-up. At the end of the process, the recruiter contacted me to indicate the company decided to stop the hiring process for the position as a whole. This was a major disappointment after 46 days of interviews, paperwork, testing, and waiting.
In summary, this was a great, though quite lengthy, interview process with a company that seems to be a good opportunity.
