Air Liquide representatives came to the Career Fair hosted by my school. I was selected (after applying) on the engineering school career services website to interview with Air Liquide.
About a week before the interview, I received an email inviting me to an information session on campus hosted by Air Liquide. The company representative was an alum of the school and not someone regularly involved in hiring or HR. She was an engineer and gave a great presentation and overview of the business and answered questions afterward.
My interview the next day was in the career services interview suites and I was interviewed by the same person who hosted the information session. She asked typical behavioral interview questions, but what impressed me was how interested she was in some of my extracurricular activities and experiences and how those qualities and traits developed could be applied to my job one day. This was refreshing considering that many companies put a lot of focus on grades and previous intern or industry experience.
Overall the interview lasted about 25 minutes and I thoroughly enjoyed the time. I dressed in business attire and the interviewer represented her company well. I received a summer internship employment offer about two weeks later and decided to accept as I was pleased with my interview experience and the opportunity given to me.
