      Senior Frontend Developer Interview

      7 Jul 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Berlin
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Akelius (Berlin) in May 2018

      Interview

First non-technical meeting (1h30) and then meeting with the developers. First meeting went really fine, I explained them what I was doing actually, my experience with Angular that I used actually on small and average apps, and my goal was to start working on more ambitious projects. I had been contacted for a second interview to "meet" the frontend developers. 2nd interview: worst than an interrogation at the police station. 50 minutes non-stop of random questions about code and Angular. Not a question about me, who I am, what I'm doing, what is my goal, just questions after questions. After 20 minutes I was gone in my head, just wanted to leave, this interview gave me a really bad image of the work atmosphere in this company. And finally they didn't hire me, because they felt I was working only on small and average apps, which were not enough for them (I told them during the first interview!), and there were few questions on Angular I couldn't answer. I've checked what it was after, in less than one day, I knew what these features were for and how to use them. This had been a big waste of time for me. Their recruitment process is really bad, when I go meet developers, I want to talk about code of course, but I want to actually MEET the people I will work with. We will spend 40h a week together, I want to know who they are and how we will work together. Code is code, everybody can learn simple features...

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Developer going to the board and writing some html: "if you had to generate 200 items, how would you do this? Please write the code on the board" .
