Interview
Interview process was unusually long, inconsistent, and lacked clarity at nearly every stage.
I applied in late 2025, completed initial interviews shortly after, and then experienced a long period of silence despite follow-up attempts. The early conversations were brief and did not provide much clarity around the role itself, day-to-day expectations, onboarding, or team structure. Much of the discussion focused on company growth, major clients, and general positioning rather than concrete responsibilities.
After an extended gap in communication, I was unexpectedly invited for a final in-person interview. That stage reflected the same inconsistency as the broader process, including last-minute scheduling changes and a generally unclear interview structure. Multiple conversations took place, but there was still very little concrete discussion of reporting expectations, workflow, or examples of work. I left without a stronger understanding of how the team operates than I had after the earlier rounds. Most notably, the individual I would have reported into, very clearly had no interest in the interview, declining to speak with me and only said “we’ll be in touch.”
The offer process was equally difficult. Compensation came in below what is typically expected for a Junior Art Director title, with limited flexibility during negotiation. Benefits were presented as generous, though PTO aligned more closely with a standard policy plus office closure days. Start date conversations also felt rigid despite the length of the hiring timeline itself.
The most concerning part was the pressure applied at the end: I received a same-day deadline to sign the offer or risk losing the opportunity. I ultimately declined, and the response that followed felt notably cold. The role was later reposted, which reinforced the sense that the hiring process may not have been fully aligned internally. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, communication was inconsistent, and transparency was lacking throughout.
