      Copywriter Interview

      3 Oct 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Amsive (New York, NY) in Jan 2017

      Interview

This was the most disorganized, unprofessional experience I've had interviewing yet. The company has no HR, which would be fine if their liaison had properly prepared me for the interview. There was no phone screening, and no information about who I would be meeting with, the hiring process, or any basic information about the role. Then I get there and the person I am in contact with is not in the office that day. Furthermore, I meet the one person I interview with (a person who belonged to an adjacent department, but not what would have been my own) and they don't know who else I am meeting. I do not meet anyone who would be supervising my work, and the person who interviews me doesn't seem to know how to interview. They only asked me extremely basic questions about my background, went over my portfolio with me--stuff I've done with a number of recruiters that doesn't show anything about how I'm unique or how I work and think. This is perhaps apropos because as a company, Path Interactive doesn't seem very unique or spectacular itself. I asked a number of questions and the answers were all basic. Oh, we have company parties during the holidays. 95% of our interns became employed after working with us (So? I'm not interviewing for an internship). Etc. I wasn't offered a position, which is alright because I knew I didn't want to work there before I even left the building. If you can't even get your hiring process in line in order to distinguish talented candidates, how are you supposed to produce good work?
